Segun Oladipupo   |

Unconfirmed social media reports reaching Nigeriamaritime360.com has revealed that the head office building of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) is on fire.

Details of the cause of the fire could not be immediately ascertained as at the time of this report.

However, a background voice on the video of the burning building can be heard saying,:

“NPA headquarters in Lagos Island is down, it is burnt down … all the cars destroyed and the building is down, people are angry now, NPA is down.

The speaker however did not mention the people responsible for the mayhem.

Attempts to reach the General Manager, Corporate and Strategic Communications of the Authority, Jatto Adams and Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi proved abortive as their lines were not reachable.

We could not however confirm from the viral video if the glass house Headquarters of the agency is the one on fire or the car park where vehicles belonging to the senior officials of the agency are warehouse opposite the headquarters was the one being razed.

Details later.
