As at the time of filing this report, the Lilypond terminal gate, two police Hillux vans were still on fire. The cause of the face-off is not yet known but our correspondent who spoke with some of the protesting boys, said it was due to extortion by some members of the taskforce team. In the melee, it was gathered that a young driver who was in his early twenties died inside the terminal. Eyewitness account confirmed to our correspondent that the rift between both parties started on Wednesday over alleged bribery and by noon on Thursday, two patrol vans have been set ablaze and scores of other vehicles destroyed by in the skirmish with truckers in the Terminal. The entry gate of the truck transit park is currently on fire even as military operatives were sighted shooting sporadically in the air.
