The Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) has once again postponed the elections into its Governing Council which was earlier slated for Friday.

Speaking exclusively to our correspondent, the head of Corporate Affairs of the Council, Mr Chinyere Cecilia Uromta, who confirmed the shift in the date, did not however adduce any reason for the postponement, but said a new date for the elections would be communicated in due course.

This is the second time the elections would be postponed in recent times, leaving stakeholders, especially the contestants in a state of bewilderment.

The latest postponement, as at the time of writing this report, caught many of the contestants unaware as most of them expressed ignorance mixed with surprise at the new development.

Prince Ozo chukwurah said he was not aware as he was awaiting final list of contestants cleared for the elections.

“You are just telling me. Am not aware “he told our correspondent

Dr Boniface Aniebonam,  the Founder of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders  (NAGAFF ) and promoter of contestants from the association,  equally expressed ignorance of the postponement.

“I am yet to be officially informed” he stated.

However, Kayode Farinto, the Deputy President of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) and one of the contestants said he was as surprised at the development as any other person but said the postponement might be due to logistics challenge.

With this postponement, the other programmes lined up by the council on pre and post -elections event have automatically been altered.

Sixteen contestants have so far been cleared to participate in the elections while the final list of contestants is still being awaited.
