President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered immediate reopening of four land borders
The president gave the order on Wednesday.
Nigeria had in August 2019 closed its land borders to curtail illegal importation of drugs, small arms and agricultural products into country from neighbouring West African nations.
The Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, made the disclosure on Wednesday while addressing State House correspondents shortly after the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting.
She stated that other land borders would be opened by December 31, 2020.
The borders the president ordered their immediate reopening are Seme in the southwest, Illela in Sokoto State, Maigatari in the Northwest, and Mfun in the South-South.
