News Bala Daura becomes AREFFN substantive National President By maritimemag November 20, 2018 ShareTweet 0 The Association of Registered Freight Forwarders of Nigeria (AREFFN) has stated that it would parley with the freight forwarding groups in the maritime industry to tackle the issues bedevilling the sector. The newly elected president of AREFFN, Bala Daura told journalists in Lagos shortly after his election as the substantive president at the weekend. The Association however elected a total of five national executives where Alhaji Bala Daura emerged the substantive national president. In his acceptance speech shortly after the election, President elect, Bala Daura assured that the association would synergize with other associations in tackling issues affecting the sector. Speaking further on the collaboration, the newly elected president affirmed his strong support in collaborating with security outfits to promote trade facilitation and to boost revenue drive of relevant maritime agencies. All the five executives were returned unopposed to run the affairs of the association for the next four years. The election which held on Saturday saw Engineer Egwuatu Atuegwu elected as vice president while Chidi Opara Anthony won the position of national secretary. Others are Reverend Nwokedi Alex as national financial secretary and Osegbo Chikelue Ebele as treasurer. Daura however pulled 58 valid votes and one invalid vote .The Vice President had 47 valid and 2 invalid. The National secretary had 54 valid and 4 invalid while 43 valid votes were recorded for the treasurer with 3 invalid.
