HeadlinesNews Amaechi Postpones completion of Lagos-Ibadan rail Project By maritimemag January 21, 2020 ShareTweet 0 Abiola Seun The Honourable Minister of Transportation, Rt Hon Rotimi Amaechi, has revealed that the April completion deadline for the Lagos-Ibadan rail project may no longer be feasible. It would be recalled that the Minister had stated last year that the Lagos-Ibadan rail project will be completed in April 2020 and inaugurated in May by the President. But, speaking via his official Twitter handle, the Minister explained that due to the quantum of work yet to be done, the April completion deadline might no longer hold. According to the Honourable Minister of Transportation: “Looking at the state of work in Apapa, completing the project in April doesn’t seem feasible, especially the extension of the rail line to the seaport. “We’ll, however, continue to work and redouble our efforts to complete the project and meet set targets.” © 2020, maritimemag.
