Founder of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) Dr. Boniface Aniebonam had hinted recently that the inauguration of the board would soon be performed by the minister. The inauguration of the Council has been delayed for several months following controversies that trailed the election into the governing Council of CRFFN. A copy of the invitation by the minister to the stakeholders was sent to our correspondent on Wednesday. The meeting is to hold in Abuja on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. The rather short invitation was signed by the Registrar of the Council, Sir Mike Jukwe and it reads” On the directive of the Honourable Minister, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, it is with the highest sense of responsibility and humility that you are invited to a meeting with him as follows: Date: Tuesday, 30th October, 2018; Time: 11am prompt, Venue: Conference Hall, 8th Floor, Federal Ministry of Transportation Headquarters, Central Area, Abuja. “Further details will be communicated to you in due course”. It may be recalled that the Federal Government, had few months ago appointed its own nominees to the Governing Council leaving the freight forwarders to conduct election of the practitioners into the Council from whom the Chairman of the Governing Council is to be elected. Consequently, the CRFFN in July conducted election for the practitioners where fifteen (15) freight forwarders were elected to represent the professionals in the council. The CRFFN management went ahead to release the date and timetable for a retreat and subsequent election of the Chairman and the Vice Chairman of the Council which eventually was postponed indefinitely on the order of the Minister. © 2018, maritimemag.
