CoverKudos & Knocks All thanks to NPA for agreeing to clear debris in Apapa By maritimemag September 21, 2019 ShareTweet 0 The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) is in the news this time for a good reason. The port landlord has agreed to clear the heaps of dirts welcoming visitors to Apapa premier port. This is coming after reports on social media on the heaps of rubbish bad enough to cause an epidemic in the port city. NPA in its goodwill said it would take care of the rubbish under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) even though it is not within its purview. Apapa Local Government and Lagos state government that collect taxes and Wharf Landing fees from importers have since turned blind eyes to the hazardous dirts. Of late, the once glorious Apapa is now a shadow of itself due to negligence by government of Lagos state and the Local Government to do the needful. No wonder there are many gigantic buildings in Apapa that have been deserted because of bad roads and unhealthy environment. © 2019, maritimemag. All rights reserved.
