HeadlinesPorts Management Adeyanju charges new MWUN executives to empower subordinates By maritimemag November 24, 2021 ShareTweet 0 Segun Oladipupo The President General (PG) of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Prince Adewale Adeyanju, has called on newly elected District officers to use their tenure in office to empower their subordinates. The PG made the call at the District delegates conference held in Lagos on Tuesday. He stated that the essence of holding office is to impact on the followers, saying leadership is not all about making money for oneself while neglecting subordinates. Six District chairmen and officers within Lagos zone were elected into office at the delegate conference. He queried the six chairmen and their executives who are seeking second term in office on what they have done for their followers and subordinates. “How many people at your unit and District levels have you empowered. Leadership is not by money alone, how many people have you helped? “Giving you a position is to empower people and subordinates. Some run after money when given position not knowing that money does not come except you work hard. “Four years is around the corner, it is whatever you do that will open doors for you in future. Use your second term to impact and empower your subordinates,” he submitted. © 2021, maritimemag. All rights reserved.
