Experience as a staff of NSC
Am working with the Nigerian Shipper’s Council in Consumer Affairs Department  and my experience is very exciting because we interface with Stakeholders in the shipping industry, the Shipping sector is very wide and each sector has its own peculiarity therefore issues we handle are not the same so there is no dull moment for us in the Council.

Women are blessed with the gift of multi-tasking while education enlightens them on how to prioritize the task in order to achieve success in all aspects of life so that gender equality can be achieved when women become emotionally intelligent, we are not there yet but we are making good progress because women have realized that they need to come together to speak with one voice and complement each other unlike in the past when women are the problems to themselves through strife and unnecessary competition. If a man puts in 60% effort on his job his achievement will be visible and he will be applauded but a woman will need to put in 80% effort on the same job before her achievement can be visible. Woman are aware of this and that is why we are making progress in our career.

The men have started changing their perception about women, they give more respect to women that are intelligent unlike before that what they look out for are beautiful women, now you have to be intelligent to earn a man’s respect.

Children
Am blessed with three lovely children

Family and work
Am very lucky to have a caring and supportive husband, we work in the same industry though he is with the private sector of the industry while am with the government angle of the industry,  therefore we understand the nature of each other’s job schedules which makes it easier for me to manage both the family and my job. If the home front is not peaceful and supportive a woman can not achieve much in her career no matter how intelligent she is.

I balance my work and family activities in such a way that none of them lacks my attention, i must confess here that it is not easy it takes the grace of God to effectively combine both and be successful in both.

Yes, i know that am wonderfully and beautifully created by God, my husband always tease me that he went to Igbo land to pick the best woman and i will respond that all the women in Igbo land are beautiful.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder
